PADI - Assistant Instructor (AI)

The Instructor Development Course (PADI) consists of 2 parts: the Instructor Assistant and the Open Water Scuba Instructor.

After completing the IDC, candidates must pass the final exam (IE: Instructor Examination) to validate their Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) certification.

Assistant Instructor: during your training, you will develop your capacities of organization and supervision of diving activities. The program specifically targets teaching methods and tools to learning diving techniques:

• Knowledge of PADI system, standards and procedures
• Development of the theoretical knowledge of recreational diving
• Practical and theoretical teaching pedagogy
• Training workshops: Putting into practice the coaching, teaching and evaluation skills
• Evaluation of rescue techniques
• Preparation for entry to the PADI Instructor program (OWSI)

The curriculum includes:

• 4 days of training (practice and theory)
• Pedagogical follow-up, evaluations and individual advice
• Assessment and teaching dives

Educational kit (IDC Pak) and application fee not included

Note: "internship" system (training in exchange for unpaid work) is strictly prohibited in French Polynesia and considered as illegal work.
